Hello and Salams everyone! I was born in Adelaide, Australia, in the last century, eep. I love my home, but I adore travelling to new places. I've been visiting Malaysia with my family since I was a child. Having a Malay mother and Chinese Malay father made my family's trips to Malaysia interesting as we enjoyed experiencing the different cultures on both sides of the family.
I've enjoyed reading books for as long as I can remember. My favourite books to read when I was growing up were the Baby Sitters Club, and Nancy Drew series. I loved those books but I always thought it would be fun to read about an Australian heroine who was not necessarily fair-haired and fair-skinned [Enter Ayesha Dean!]
After university my husband James and I welcomed our son Ilyaas, and a couple of years later we found ourselves in Geneva, Switzerland where I was interning for an International Human Rights NGO. We then spent some time in The Netherlands where I worked for the United Nations in war crimes prosecution. During that time we were lucky enough to lots of travelling around Europe, including a trip to Istanbul where the first Ayesha Dean adventure is set. I've spent most of my time working as a lawyer in criminal law, prosecuting crimes in the courts. Nowadays, if I'm not writing my next story, you'll find me planning my next travel adventure, spending time with family and friends, trying to learn a new language, or playing with my two fluffy Siberian cats :)
